FUTILITY According to one reference work, this word describes “the futility of an object which does not function as it was designed to do.” Humans were designed to live forever, working together as a perfect, united family in taking care of a paradisaic earth. Instead, they lead a short, painful, and often frustrating existence. As Job put it, “man, born of woman, is short-lived and glutted with agitation.” (Job 14:1) Futility indeed!
How futile it is for we humans to hope for the future without looking hand-in-hand with our Grand Creator of existence. We are not randomly made to laugh, smile, and love - we stand alone in our natural world with the ability to show love... or to have the absence of it. The ringing of the division bells declare our high hopes vanity - only which are answerable to our Loving Father.
